The Getinge AB is a listed Swedish medical technology company. The company manufactures and sells medical devices and systems for the health sector and life sciences . The group of companies is divided into three business areas: Patient & Post-Acute Care, Acute Care Therapies and Surgical Workflows. The group of companies employs more than 15,000 people worldwide. The company's CEO is Mattias Perjos and the Chairman of the Board is Carl Bennet. With a share of sales of 37%, the USA and Canada are the largest markets, followed by Western Europe with 35% and the rest of the world with 28%.

history

Getinge was founded in Sweden in 1904 . The company was bought by Electrolux in 1964 . In 1983 Electrolux took over the largest German manufacturer of disinfection equipment , ZK Hospital, which Getinge later merged with Arjo, and in 1989 it was acquired by Rune Andersson and Carl Bennet. Getinges shares have been listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange since 1993 and have been part of the OMXS30 index since July 2009 .

In 1995 the merger with Arjo took place and in 2000 the German Maquet GmbH was taken over. This takeover was followed by the acquisition of Heraeus Med in 2002 and Huntleigh Technology PLC in 2007 . In 2011 Getinge took over the US company Atrium Medical and in 2014 Pulsion Medical Systems .
