The Securitas AB is a Swedish security company based in Stockholm . The company employs around 330,000 people in more than 50 countries and generated sales of 8.3 billion euros in 2015 .
history
In 1934, Erik Philipp-Sörensen bought the security company AB Hälsingborgs Nattvakt in Helsingborg and from 1972 onwards, following further takeovers - such as the oldest US detective agency Pinkerton in 1999 - operated under Securitas AB . In 1998 the group took over "Deutsche Sicherheits AG" and founded Securitas Germany . Today, Securitas is the world's largest provider of security solutions in the private security industry and is represented in Germany with around 19,200 employees at around 85 locations. The company operates in the fields of security services and security technology. The company operates internationally under the name Securitas. Since this name is already protected under trademark law in Switzerland , it is called Protectas SA there . In 2001, security technology was spun off as an independent division under the name Securitas Systems, now Niscayah .

The logo consists of three red dots on a black background. They stand for: attention, honesty and helpfulness. Below the three horizontal dots is the word Securitas in golden capital letters, today in white, in the specially created Securitas Sans font (since June 2008).

Securitas Germany
The economic situation of the money and valuables transport division Germany remained permanently below the expectations of the group. After the management decided to sell the money and valuables transport division of Securitas Germany for a symbolic price, it was taken over on November 28, 2005 by competitor Heros, who went bankrupt shortly afterwards .
Heros, now fully owned by Deutsche Securitas, acquired the previously independent medium-sized Renful Flugverkehr Services GmbH (founded in 1995 in Frankfurt / Main) in March 2006. In 2007 this subsidiary was renamed Securitas Flugverkehr Services GmbH. The legal independence remains formally.
In March 2008, this subsidiary hit the headlines across Germany because, according to the ver.di union, it hindered the establishment of a works council by dismissing union members without notice.
In Neu-Isenburg , the company's employees have been deployed as auxiliary police officers for several years to monitor stationary traffic and issue warnings that are subject to a fee. The Securitas employees work as temporary workers for the public order office , but are dressed and paid by Securitas.
In April 2008, the technology subsidiary Securitas Systems changed its name to the independent company Niscayah GmbH. The security service provider Securitas merged in May 2008 with G4S Sicherheitssysteme GmbH , a British subsidiary and the largest provider of security technology in Germany. The merger was approved by the Federal Cartel Office at the end of April. The takeover increases the company's market share to 14 percent.

Securitas in Switzerland
Since the security service provider Securitas AG has existed in Switzerland for over 100 years , Securitas AB had to choose a different name there. The result was Protectas SA in Switzerland - after Securitas AG, the second largest security company with 19 branches. In addition, all aviation activities are controlled by Protectas Aviation Security AG , an independent company. The Swiss logo with the three dots is the same as that of Securitas AB, but under it it says Protectas .
