Arkady Lvovich Onishchik

Arkadi Lwowitsch Onishchik ( Russian Аркадий Львович Онищик , English transcription Arkady Onishchik ; born November 14, 1933 in Moscow ; † February 12, 2019 ibid) was a Russian mathematician who dealt with Lie groups and their geometric applications. Onishchik was a student of Eugene Dynkin , with whom he received his doctorate from Lomonosov University . In 1970 he completed his habilitation ( Russian doctorate ). He was a professor at the Yaroslavl State University .

In addition to Lie groups and Lie algebras, he also dealt with supermanifolds.

In 1962 he received the Moscow Mathematical Society Prize .
