Armand Magnin
Armand Magnin (born February 7, 1920 in Hauteville ; † September 29, 2011 in Carouge ; resident in Hauteville) was a Swiss politician ( PdA ).
biography
Magnin came to Geneva with his family in 1931 and joined the Similor fittings factory as a lathe operator in 1937 , where he founded a workers' committee. From 1948 to 1954 he chaired the metalworkers 'section of the Swiss Metalworkers' Association (Smuv) and from 1954 worked as an editor for the communist magazine La Voix ouvrière .
From 1951 to 1969 Magnin had a seat on the municipal council of Carouge and from 1945 to 1991 in the Grand Council of the Canton of Geneva . In 1984 he replaced the resigned Roger Dafflon in the National Council , where he had a seat until 1987. As Secretary General of the PdA he was active at the cantonal level from 1970 and at the national level from 1978 to 1987.
