The Armenian Constitutional Right-Protective Center; Abbreviation: ACRPC is a non-governmental organization founded in 1995 with its headquarters in Vanadzor , Armenia . Its aim is to contribute to the development of a democratic legal culture in Armenia through academic activity, further education and legal assistance for the citizens. The founding president is the Armenian lawyer Gevork Manoukian.

Activity in Armenia

  1. The Armenian Human Rights School (AHRS), for which the ACRPC has been given a plot of land in the center of Vanadzor by the city administration, offers annual specialized advanced courses for secondary school teachers in the subject of “social sciences” (human rights, civic education, state and law and ethics) .
  2. In the Community Middle School (CSS), children are taught using the Community Teaching Methodology (CTM).
  3. The Network of Human Rights Libraries (HRLN) provides information on laws and human rights in Armenia and serves as a resource center in the cities of Vanadzor , Hrasdan , Sevan , Gawar , Dilijan and Artashat .
  4. Publications: The ACRPC has published a journal for legal sciences since 1989 For the Sake of Justice and since 2005 the newspaper Legal Culture . The publications are disseminated among educational, civil society and government institutions.
  5. The ACRPC offers free legal advice to Armenian citizens and tries to encourage constitutional reforms.

Between 2003 and 2008, the ACRPC reached approximately 6% of the Armenian population through specialized advanced courses for middle school teachers.

International activity

The ACRPC has had special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the UN (ECOSOC) since 2007 and has been in contact with the UN Department of Public Information (UN DPI) since 2002. It is also accredited by UNCTAD .

The ACRPC is a member of several international civil society networks, including the Conference of NGOs in Consultative Status with the United Nations (CoNGO), International Union of Black Sea NGOs (IUBSNGO), Civicus - World Alliance for Citizen Participation, Global Call for Action against Poverty (GCAP ) Armenian Coalition and coordinates the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) Armenian Coalition.
