The Armenian Heritage Park in Boston

The Armenian Heritage Park ( English Armenian Heritage Park ) is a the victims of the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire dedicated Memorial Park in Boston , Massachusetts . It is located on Lot 13 on the Rose Kennedy Greenway between Faneuil Hall and Christopher Columbus Park. The foundation stone was laid on September 9, 2010.

The central element of the monument is a sculpture that is surrounded by reflecting water. The sculpture has 24 to 26 different configurations, which symbolize the dispersion of the diaspora and at the same time the coming together of immigrants from different countries. The other part is a grass maze that not only honors the Armenian contribution to the United States , but also represents the general way of life.

The Armenian Heritage Foundation, which is made up of dozens of Armenian-American religious, cultural, and other organizations in and around Massachusetts, raised $ 5 million to $ 6 million to help build the Memorial Park.

The groundbreaking ceremony on May 22, 2012 included Governor Deval Patrick , Karekin II , Catholicos of All Armenians, Rachel Kaprielian in her capacity as Registrar of Motor Vehicles , Middlesex County's Sheriff Peter Koutoujian , Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and many Americans of Armenian descent as well as city and state officials present.

The construction of the park was initially set for a period of twelve months, but dragged on longer; the opening finally took place on May 22, 2012. The Armenian Minister for Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandjan and the Governor Deval Patrick accompanied hundreds of those present from the Armenian community at the inauguration of the park.
