Armin Kleinau

Armin Kleinau (born April 25, 1961 in Gardelegen ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From March 18 to October 3, 1990, he was a member of the first and last freely elected People's Chamber and briefly a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

After attending the Polytechnic High School in Estedt and the Extended High School in Gardelegen, he passed the Abitur in 1979 and studied construction machinery at the TU Magdeburg from 1979 to 1984 . He graduated as a graduate engineer and worked as a designer from 1984 to 1987.

From 1990 to 1992 he worked in the Senate Department for Health in Berlin.

Armin Kleinau is Protestant, married and has three children.

Political party

Since 1983, Armin Kleinau was a member of the CDU bloc party, where he was chairman of the CDU branch in Engersen and deputy CDU district chairman in Gardelegen. Since 1987 he has been a councilor for transport, environmental protection and water management in the Gardelegen municipality.

MP

From the 1990 Volkskammer election on March 18 to German reunification on October 3, 1990, he was a member of the first and last freely elected Volkskammer. He was elected in constituency 10 (Magdeburg).

From October 14th to 27th, 1990 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt. However, he resigned from the state parliament before the constituent session on October 28, after he had resigned his mandate after allegations by the Stasi. The successor was Gerd Gies , who was elected Prime Minister in the constituent meeting.
