Armin Sowa

Armin Sowa (born August 2, 1959 in Waake ) is a former German basketball player.

The 2.09 m wide Sowa, who on the position of the center played was with the ASC Göttingen twice German champion and came into the national team, including as captain, to more than 100 missions. In addition, he also took part in the 1984 Olympic basketball tournament in Los Angeles and the 1985 European Championship in Germany, where he was fifth with the team. In 1985 he moved to BG Steiner-Optik Bayreuth, which had made it back to the Bundesliga in the previous season. After three years in Bayreuth, he joined the Bundesliga competitor TTL Bamberg in 1988 . In the top German league, Sowa scored a total of 2480 points over the course of his career.

After graduating from high school, Sowa studied business administration at the University of Göttingen and now lives with his wife in Hanover, where he runs a hotel.
