Arminas Lydeka

Arminas Lydeka (born February 21, 1968 in Alytus ) is a Lithuanian politician, member of the Seimas .

biography

After graduating from high school with distinction (gold medal) in 1986 at the second secondary school in Molėtai , he graduated with honors as a political scientist ( international relations ) at the Faculty of Social Sciences in 1993 and the master’s degree at Lomonosov University in Moscow in 1994 . From 1992 to 1994 he worked as a consul in the Lithuanian embassy in Russia . In 1994 he continued his education at Aarhus University ( Denmark ), London University in 1995 and Amsterdam University in 1997 .

From 1994 to 1995 he was director of international connections at Lietuvos pramonininkų konfederacija , then deputy director at UAB “Alternatas”. From 1994 to 2003 he taught at Vilniaus universiteto Tarptautinio verslo mokykla , at the Institute for Political Science , at the Faculty of Communication at Vilniaus universitetas . From 2000 to 2012 he was a member of the Seimas and in 2004 a member of the European Parliament (delegated by Seimas). From 2006 to 2012 he headed the Human Rights Committee . He has been a Seimas member again since June 2014, as his party colleague Petras Auštrevičius became a member of the European Parliament.

From 1998 he was a member of the Lietuvos liberalų sąjunga , from 2003 to 2010 the Liberalų ir centro sąjunga , since 2010 the Lietuvos Respublikos liberalų sąjūdis .

He and Mrs. Brigita Olga have the daughter Armintė (* 1998).
