Arminia Ochtrup (officially: Sportclub Arminia Ochtrup from 1912 eV ) is a sports club from Ochtrup in the Steinfurt district of Münster . The first soccer team played a year in the highest Westphalian amateur league.

history

The club was founded in 1912 and offers basketball , soccer, handball , judo , karate , athletics , swimming , table tennis , gymnastics and volleyball . As of January 1, 2008, the association had around 2,400 members. The Arminia footballers play their home games in the FansationSport stadium . Until 2014 the venue was called Stadion am Schulzentrum .

The footballers were promoted to the Emsland district class in 1946 and immediately became runner-up behind Eintracht Nordhorn . In the following season 1947/48, the Arminia secured the championship and promotion to the state league , which was the highest amateur league in Westphalia at the time. As the third from bottom of the 1948/49 season , the team missed relegation and had to return to the district class. Three years later, the Ochtruper descended into the district class. The ascent was only possible in 1958.

After several decades in the lower leagues, the Arminia succeeded in moving up to the state league again in 2005, which, however, was followed by direct relegation. In 2009 the team was relegated from the district league. After a runner-up behind Germania Hauenhorst , he returned to the district league in 2011. There Arminia had bad luck. Due to a league reform, five teams were relegated instead of the usual three. The Ochtrupers missed relegation only because of the worse goal difference compared to TuS Altenberge . Since then, Arminia has played in the Steinfurter Kreisliga A.

The football department of SC Arminia Ochtrup was separated from the rest of the club and existed temporarily as 1. FC Arminia Ochtrup. Later he founded the FSV Ochtrup with almost the entire youth department of FC Lau-Brechte .
