Arnar Jónsson (actor)

Arnar Jónsson (born January 21, 1943 in Akureyri , Iceland ) is an Icelandic actor .

Life

Arnar Jónsson graduated from the National Drama School in 1964. Since then he has been one of the most sought-after actors in Iceland; he is under contract with the Icelandic National Theater . Arnar has played more leading roles in his theater career than any other Icelandic actor. He has appeared in over 200 radio programs and numerous television productions. In addition to his acting career, he also takes part in golf tournaments.

Arnar Jónsson has been married to the Icelandic actress Þórhildur Þorleifsdóttir since 1965 . Her children include the actress Sólveig Arnarsdóttir , who is also known in Germany, and the opera and theater director Þorleifur Örn Arnarsson , who has been acting director of the Berliner Volksbühne since the 2019/2020 season .
