Arnault Guilhem, Baron de Barbazan (* 1360 ; † 1431 ), called Chevalier sans reproche ( knight without blame ), was advisor and chamberlain ( chambellan ) of the French kings Charles VI. and Charles VII.

He came from a noble family of the Bigorre . As a soldier, he emerged in 1404 when he faced seven English riders as the leader of seven French horsemen during the Hundred Years War . During the civil wars at the time of the illness of King Charles VI. he stood loyal to the royalist cause and achieved several victories against the soldiers of the Duke of Burgundy . In 1420 he defended Melun against the English. After the surrender with free withdrawal, he was held as a prisoner but was freed by Étienne de Vignolles (La Hire). In 1430 he defeated the united English and Burgundians at La Croisette in Champagne . The following year he died of the wounds he suffered in the Battle of Bulgnéville .

At the king's request, he was buried in the Saint-Denis basilica , the burial place of the French kings. When the royal tombs of Saint-Denis were sacked during the French Revolution , his grave was opened and looted on October 22, 1793, and his remains were buried in a mass grave outside the church.
