Arnel Pineda (born September 5, 1967 in Sampaloc , Manila ) is a Filipino singer and songwriter .
Since December 2007 he has been the lead singer of the US rock band Journey . He was previously under contract as a solo artist with Warner Bros. , before he fronted the Philippine rock band The Zoo in 2006 until he joined Journey .
