The Arnesteinen is a nunatak in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica . It is the largest nunatak in the Hemmestadskjera group in the Drygalski Mountains of northern Orvinfjella .
The Nunatak was first recorded on the basis of aerial photographs taken during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped it using aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). It is named after Arne Hemmestad (* 1920), a mechanic on this research trip.
