The Hemmestadskjera are a group of around 20 nunataks in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica . They extend over a length of 11 km as the northeastern part of the Drygalski Mountains in the Orvinfjella . The largest object in this group is the Arnesteinen . Together with the Sørensen nunataks, they are grouped together as Nevskiye nunataks .
They were first recorded on the basis of aerial photographs taken during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named them, mapped the Nunatakker using aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). It is named after Arne Hemmestad (* 1920), a mechanic on this research trip.
