The Nevskiye nunataks ( Russian Скали Невски Skali Nevsky ) are a group versträuter Nunatakker in East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . They rise up in the Drygalski Mountains of Orvinfjella and consist of the Sørensen Nunatakkern and the Hemmestadskjera .
They were mapped by cartographers from the Norsk Polar Institute based on surveys and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). Soviet scientists re-mapped them in 1961 and gave them their name. This translates as "rock of the Neva ". The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the Russian name in 1970 in an adapted partial translation into English.
