The Sørensen Nunatakkers are a group of around 15 Nunatakkers in Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . They extend over a length of 10 km as the north-western part of the Drygalskiberge in the Orvinfjella . Together with the Hemmestadskjera , they are grouped together as Nevskiye Nunataks .
They were first recorded on the basis of aerial photographs taken during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named them, mapped the Nunatakker using aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). It is named after Stein Sørensen (* 1921), a radio operator on this research trip from 1956 to 1958.
