Arno Böckling

Arno Böckling (born February 16, 1952 in Mainz ) is a former German national handball player and coach . He played for TV Großwallstadt and TV Hüttenberg .

Handball career

Böckling began his career at SV Kostheim. He switched to TV Großwallstadt in 1972 and became German champion in 1973. In the 1977 and 1978 seasons he reached the final of the DHB Cup with the team of TV Hüttenberg , which was lost to VfL Gummersbach .

From 1982 to 1985 he was the coach of the German national student team; he led the team in 1983 to sixth place at the Student World Cup in France.

Böckling was a founding member and first president of the Friends of German Handball (until 1995). At the same time he was also president of the handball association Rheinhessen.

Private

After completing his career, he became managing director of several purchasing associations. From 1987, he held a marketing teaching position for 11 years at the Baden-Württemberg University of Cooperative Education (today Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Mosbach). He is currently working as a marketing consultant for the Optic Society. He is also an auditor for quality management systems.

He is married and has a daughter.
