Arno Rudert (born 1897 ; died March 27, 1954 ) was a German editor and newspaper publisher.
Life
From 1920 to 1924 he worked as a bookseller, from 1924 to 1933 as editor of the communist workers' newspaper in Frankfurt am Main. During the Nazi regime, Rudert was arrested several times and sentenced to forced labor. After the end of the Second World War he became a member of the newly founded KPD .
Rudert was one of the seven who received the license from the US military government to publish the Frankfurter Rundschau , which appeared from August 1, 1945 as one of three newly founded and licensed newspapers after the war. In addition to Rudert, the co-license holders Emil Carlebach and Otto Grossmann belonged to the KPD, three others, Hans Etzkorn , Paul Rodemann and Wilhelm Knothe to the SPD . Wilhelm Karl Gerst belonged to the Center Party before the Nazi era .
Until 1947, all other co-license holders left the editorial board. Rudert was expelled from the KPD in November 1947. The Frankfurter Rundschau was thus “free of communists”.
In April 1949 Rudert was elected to the board of the German news agency (DENA).
Arno Rudert was married to Friedel Rudert (born in 1903).
