Arnold Heinrich Tanner

Arnold Heinrich Tanner (born February 25, 1831 in Herisau ; † August 5, 1872 in Herisau; legal resident in Herisau) was a Swiss textile entrepreneur and politician from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Arnold Heinrich Tanner was a son of Johann Heinrich Tanner . In 1854 he married Elisa Heer, daughter of Johann Jakob Heer. Tanner worked in his father's textile export company. After his early death, his sons Viktor Tanner and Emil Tanner took over the company Tanner, Diethelm & Compagnie. From 1896 the company ran under the name V. & E. Tanner. In 1896, son Eugen Tanner also joined the company. Arnold Heinrich Tanner was a member of the Herisau local council from 1861 . From 1863 to 1863 he was Ausserrhoder Grand Councilor . He served from 1871 to 1872 as a state ensign and in 1872 as a state cap master. Tanner was one of the main sponsors of the Herisau gas supply .
