Arnold Huchting

Arnold Diedrich Huchting (born August 22, 1824 in Bockhorn ; † December 10, 1900 there ) was a farmer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Huchting was the son of the brickworks owner August Heinrich Huchting and, after completing an agricultural apprenticeship, ran a farm in Bockhorn. In 1856 he also became the community leader there until his death. Between 1863 and 1890 and from 1893 until his death he was a member of the Oldenburg State Parliament. In addition, from 1887 he was chairman of the central committee of the Progressive Party in the 2nd Oldenburg constituency and from 1899 its honorary president. From 1881 to 1887 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg 2 ( Jever , Brake , Westerstede , Varel , Elsfleth , Landwürden ) and the German Progressive Party .

In 1874 he married Johanne Friederike geb. Blumenhorst, the marriage remained childless.
