Arnold I. (Laurenburg)

Arnold I. von Laurenburg († 1148 or before 1154 ) was Count von Laurenburg and is one of the ancestors of the House of Nassau .

Arnold was the second son of Dudo von Laurenburg and the fourth of the seven daughters of Count Ludwig I von Arnstein , possibly their name was Irmgardis or Demudis. Arnold is mentioned between 1124 and 1148 as Count von Laurenburg. He presumably ruled with his brother Ruprecht I. Together with his brother Ruprecht I, he had Nassau Castle built around 1120 . From 1124 he was Vogt of the St. Georg Church in Limburg an der Lahn and Vogt of Idstein .
