Arnold Knauer

Arnold Max Knauer (born May 25, 1931 in Sonneberg , Thuringia; † January 7, 1981 in Berlin-Mitte ) was a German economist and vocational training teacher .

Life

Knauer was born the son of a worker. In 1946 he was one of the founders of the FDJ . In 1949 he joined the SED . From 1951 he studied economics at the Humboldt University in Berlin with a degree in economics. In 1959 he received his doctorate from the University of Economics Berlin (HFOE) for Dr. rer. oec. (Dissertation: The reproduction process of the social workforce of the German Democratic Republic and the tasks of the local state organs in the coordinating planning and steering of the workforce ), he completed his habilitation there in 1963 (Habilitation thesis: The new economic system of planning and management of the national economy and the activity of Offices for employment and career guidance ). He then taught at the HfÖ. From 1965 to 1979 he was director of the Institute for Vocational Training, later of the Central Institute for Vocational Training of the GDR at the State Planning Commission.

Knauer was a professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin and from 1970 a corresponding member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the GDR .
