Arnold Leissler the Younger

Arnold Leissler (born July 3, 1939 in Hanover ; † December 27, 2014 ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

After attending the Werkkunstschule Hannover and a scholarship at the Villa Massimo in Rome , he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg from 1962 to 1965 .

Leissler's pictures and graphics with abstract plant ornaments are influenced by Fantastic Realism .

As a full member of the German Association of Artists , Arnold Leissler took part in several major annual exhibitions of the DKB between 1964 and 1982. He was also a member of the Hanover Art Association .

In 1979 Arnold Leissler had an apartment and studio at Kahlendamm 7A in Hanover.

In March 2016, his estate was auctioned off at the art and auction house Kastern .

Trivia

His father Arnold Leissler Sr. (born May 21, 1911), who lives in Staw, is currently the oldest living German man.
