Arnulf Herbst

Arnulf Herbst (* 1943 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German art historian .

Arnulf Herbst studied art history and classical archeology in Frankfurt , Basel and Vienna , and received his doctorate in Frankfurt in 1969. Then he worked in the Office for Science and Art of the City of Frankfurt. From 1983 to 1987 he was director of the Wiesbaden Museum . In 1986, under his direction, he succeeded in acquiring 30 works of art from the estate of Hanna Bekker vom Rath . From 1987 to 1997 he was director of the Museum for Arts and Crafts in Frankfurt. Since 2007 he has been a representative of the Villa Grisebach auction house in Frankfurt.
