IC 1498 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 236 million light years from the Milky Way and about 130,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7692 and IC 5334 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on November 5, 1891 .
