IC 1495 = IC 5327 is a bar-spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 289 million light years from the Milky Way and about 120,000 light years in diameter. In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 1494 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 3, 1891 .
