IC 1502 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Cepheus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 97 million light years from the Milky Way and about 25,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on October 15, 1891 .
