IC 1493 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Pegasus at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 843 million light years from the Milky Way and about 125,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 6, 1893 .
