IC 1518 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Pegasus north of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 519 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years across. Together with IC 1519 , it forms the (optical) galaxy pair KPG 599 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 6, 1893 .
