economy

The country's largest gold mine is currently located about four kilometers southwest of Aroroy and belonged to the Philippine company Atlas between 1980 and 1994 . Since 2007, the Australian CGA Mining indirectly holds the majority in the gold mine. In 2012, CGA Mining was taken over by the Australian company B2Gold . 157,591 ounces of gold were mined again in 2016 and the 2017 production is only slightly lower.
