Count and Baron Arpád Albert von Bothmer (born September 17, 1858 in Szolos-Veg-Ardo , Szőlősardó , Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén , Hungary ; † July 3, 1938 in Dunaalmás , Hungary) was an Austro-Hungarian major general .

Life

Arpád Albert Graf and Freiherr von Bothmer zu Schwegerhoff came from a branch of the north German aristocratic Bothmer family , who had gained possession and prestige in Hungary in the 19th century. His parents were Carl Alexander Friedrich Graf and Freiherr von Bothmer zu Schwegerhoff and Rosa von Szabó de Sepsi-Szent-György. His father was born at Schloss Eickhof near Liebenau . He was one of six children and married Helene Marie Isidora von Pilaszanovits in Budapest on March 15, 1890. They had four children and lived in a castle on the Danube near Budapest. He died on July 3, 1938 in Dunaalmás.

Military career

Count Bothmer was an Austro-Hungarian Major General . In 1879 he was made a lieutenant in the Imperial Infantry Regiment No. 67 appointed. In 1882 he took part in the suppression of the uprising in Herzegovina as a company officer, then in 1889 as a lieutenant in the Royal Hungarian Infantry. From 1908 to 1911 he was commander of the Royal Hungarian 2nd Gyulaer-Honvéd Infantry Regiment. From 1911 on, Count Bothmer became the commander of the 75th Royal Hungarian Honvéd Infantry Brigade in Kolozsvár .

Awards

Count Bothmer was made Knight of the Order of the Iron Crown (Austria) III in 1910 . Class and held military awards.

Arpád Graf von Bothmer had four children:
