Dunaalmás ( Latin Almas ) is a municipality in the small area of Tata in Komárom-Esztergom County in northern Hungary . In 2008, 1,653 inhabitants lived in an area of 14.77 km². The village is located 30 km west of Esztergom and 60 km northwest of the capital Budapest .
Dunaalmás is located on the southern bank of the Danube , which is about 0.6 km wide here. The northern bank already belongs to Slovakia .
Road No. 10 runs through the town, which leads from Győr via Komárom to Budapest.
The quarries in the Gerecse Mountains above Tardos are of particular importance in the history of architecture and art. The base of the New Castle in Vienna is made of the white limestone from Dunaalmás.
