The Arroyo Fray Bentos , also known as the Arroyo de Fray Bentos , is a river in Uruguay .
It runs in the area of the Río Negro department through the widest part of the Rincón de las Gallinas in a westerly direction. It flows into the Río Uruguay about three kilometers southwest of the city of Fray Bentos as a tributary on the left . The name of the river goes back to a hermit of the same name who lived in this area.
