The Arroyo Malo is a river in western Uruguay .
The river, which belongs to the catchment area of the Río Uruguay, has its source near the Cuchilla de San José . From there it runs in the area of the Paysandú department in a westerly direction to its confluence with the Río Uruguay north of the city of Paysandú . The Parque Nacional El Palmar is located opposite the mouth of the Arroyo Malo on the other bank of the Río Uruguay on Argentine territory .
