Arsen Bashirovich Kanokov
Arsen Baschirowitsch Kanokow ( kabard .: Къанокъуэ Арсен Башир и къуэ, Qanoque Arsen Bashir i Que , Russian Арсен Баширович Каноков ; * February 22, 1957 in Shitchala- President of the Russian Republic of Kabardino from 2005 to 2013 in Shitchala) .
Kanokow was born in Schitchala, a small Kabardian village. He was a successful businessman in Moscow for a long time and was voted businessman of the year several times in the 1990s . From December 7, 2003, he was a member of the Russian Duma for the LDPR , but after about a year he switched to the United Russia party .
From September 2005 to December 2013 he was President of Kabardino-Balkaria and successor to Valery Muchamedowitsch Kokow , who appointed him himself and whose election had been confirmed by the local parliament.
