Arson was founded in 1999 by Arne Clemm, Benjamin Schlanzke, Jürgen Schneider and Manuel Weber. It had its first appearance in June 2000 at the PfiJuKo Bergneustadt in front of around 1800 visitors. Just two weeks later, the band won first place in a local newcomer contest. Thereupon Arson decided to send the self-titled demo to larger festivals and was able to perform at the Expo in Hanover in October 2000 and then in December at the Christmas Rock Night with around 1500 visitors.

In June 2002, Arson released her first album, New World . The album received the album of the year nat award at the CCM Awards in 2002 . Rock . The band itself received the National Newcomer of the Year award . In 2003 Arson had her first international appearances in the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Italy. In August 2004 Jürgen Schneider left the band to take care of his family more.

Shortly afterwards, a new front man and singer was quickly found in Thomas Süßenbach. In March 2005, Arson began recording the new album Brokeness Brings Forth Unknown Beauty , which was released on October 10th. At the end of 2006 Arne Clemm left the band. Since then, Arson has only appeared in threes. Benjamin Schlanzke played bass during this time until a new bass player was found in late 2008 in Ruben Seinsche.

In the summer of 2011 the band announced on their website that they would split up.

In November 2018, the band announced on a newly set up Facebook page that they would play some concerts and festivals in 2019 for the band's 20th anniversary.

style

Arson describe their style as "a mixture of the aggressiveness of Metalcore, the power of Nu Metal and the intensity of Emo ." The clear vocals clearly predominate on Brokeness Brings Forth Unknown Beauty . Powermetal.de highlights the “brilliant melodies” and praises the band for being “very imaginative and flexible”. On the self-titled demo, Arson had not yet decided on style and experimented mainly with grunge .

religion

Christianity plays an important role for Arson's musicians. Not only are the lyrics inspired by Christianity, the band members even state that the "goal of their music" is:

"We want to break down prejudices about being a Christian, get in touch with people and show them a lively, authentic and not an artificial Christianity."
