art Kapella Schkeuditz is a registered association that sees itself as a socio-cultural center. In particular, the encounters between artists of the visual arts and music lovers find a podium here.
history
The former cemetery chapel in the old cemetery in the airport town of Schkeuditz no longer met the requirements of dignified funeral ceremonies at the beginning of 1990.
The idea of building an art band came from the then managing director of the Association of Visual Artists Leipzig e. V., Gerda Viecenz , who created a meeting place between artists and those interested in art. In August 1995 the "temple of art" art chapel Schkeuditz was opened after renovations with the help of funding. Not only artists from the region will find a podium here, international artists of all genres now also meet in this cultural oasis. In 2015 the association celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Choir type Kapella
The art Kapella choir, led by Adelheid Metzing, has maintained close friendships with ensembles all over Germany for 14 years and is represented at important cultural events. In the MDR search for the "here from four" choir in 2013, the choir made it into the top 12 of 80 choirs.
