Arthur Dreifuss , also Arthur Dreyfuss (* 25. March 1908 in Frankfurt am Main , Germany ; † 31 December 1993 in Los Angeles , California , United States ) was a German film director and -producer and screenwriter , who in the United States actively was.

Life

Dreifuss began his career in Germany as a musical choreographer and producer. In 1928 he went to New York City , where he initially worked as a dance director for low-budget musicals. In the mid-1930s he began shooting a few short films in Hollywood , and in the 1940s he made so-called B-movies . His most famous feature film production was The Death Row in 1962 . But he was best known for his musical productions.

Dreifuss lived in Studio City and died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center . He was married to Ruth Dreifuss (* 1909) from Missouri and father of a daughter and a son.
