Arthur Japin
Arthur Valentijn Japin (born July 26, 1956 , Haarlem , the Netherlands ) is a Dutch writer ; Actor and screenwriter .
Life
Arthur Japin is the son of theater critic Bert Japin. When he was twelve years old, his father committed suicide . From 1982 Japin studied acting in Amsterdam and London. In Amsterdam he then studied Dutch and literature for two years at the Cabaret Academy . Until 1987, Japin worked primarily as an actor before focusing on writing. He published his first novel in 1996 with Magonische verhalen . With The Black with white hearts and the seduction two of his novels have been published in German.
Japin lives with the American writer and translator Benjamin Moser in Utrecht.
