Arthur Kruger

Carl August Arthur Krüger (born August 21, 1866 in Berlin ; † after 1926) was a German sculptor , medalist , draftsman and caricaturist.

He was a student of the sculptor Waldemar Uhlmann and the coin die cutter Otto Schultz in Berlin. In 1895 he took over the management of the Berlin medal coin from Ludwig Ostermann (formerly G. Loos). In 1905 he created the official inauguration medal for the Berlin Cathedral . For the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach, he cut all the stamps for the General Decoration of Honor under Wilhelm Ernst .

From the 1910s at the latest, he worked for the magazines Kladderadatsch and Der Wahre Jacob, for which he created numerous political and socially critical caricatures. In 1907 he became a member of the Berlin Freemasons' lodge Zum golden Pflug .
