Arthur Vollstedt (born January 21, 1892 in Hamburg , † November 15, 1969 in Cologne ) was a German speed skater .

Career

After 28 years of abstinence, Arthur Vollstedt, a German speed skater, took part again in the 1925 World Speed ​​Skating Championship in Leningrad . A year later, the man from Hamburg was able to set a new national record over 3000 meters in Titisee-Neustadt with a time of 5: 43.00 minutes. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 , Vollstedt competed for the German delegation over 1500 m (23rd place) and 5000 m (28th place).

After his career he was at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , Vollstedt was responsible for the newly established Olympic Ice Sports Center . From 1947 he worked as a trainer at the Cologne Ice Club .

During the First World War he served as a submarine driver.
