Arthur Williams (musician)

Arthur Williams is an American jazz trumpeter .

Williams played in the New York free jazz scene in the late 1970s a . a. in William Parker's Big Moon Ensemble , the Muntu Ensemble to Jemeel Moondoc , in Frank Lowe Orchestra and Improvising Orchestra of Todd Capp . Under his own name, he made radio recordings in New York in 1979 with William Parker, Dennis Charles , Peter Kuhn and Toshinori Kondō , which were released in 2016 on NoBusiness Records ( Forgiveness Suite ). Williams' recordings are not available from later years.

Arthur Williams should not be confused with the trumpeter of the same name, who worked in the USA and England a.o. in the 1920s and 30s. a. played with Butterbeans and Susie , Al Bowlly , Billy Cotton and Billy Jones.
