action
In medieval Britain, the evil druid Aberthol tries to destroy the Celts . In addition, he has taken control of the mind of King Vortigern. The young warrior Arthfael finds a magical sword in a pond when he is protecting a Celtic woman who has converted to Christianity from the followers of the druid. Through this sword he can receive visions from the future and see the death of the king on the battlefield. Since he knows the future, Arthfael manages to save the king from his fate. However, Arthfael's best friend dies instead. Angry about the loss, Arthfael confronts the druid, who had already made strange decisions in previous war meetings. However, the king stands against his lifesaver and on the side of the druid and banishes Arthfael.
A new vision leads him to the reclusive magician Myrrdin. After a failed attempt to win Myrrdin over to fight the druid, Myrrdin changes his mind when he discovers the symbiosis between sword and Arthfael. He joins him. Later a nobleman and his bodyguard join the duo.
The final battle takes place in the catacombs, and Aberthol manages to conjure up a deity. However, that was the intention of Arthfael and Myrrdin, because this is the only way to free the sacrificed souls. Together, Aberthol and his deity are destroyed. King Vortigern is fatally injured. Lying dying, he appoints Arthfael as his successor.
criticism
Cinema speaks of a film whose story relies too much on dialogue. Only after an hour does the film gain momentum, thanks to some joke.
The film only got a rating of 21% on Rotten Tomatoes .
