The Artisan magazine is a German-language specialist magazine for small and medium-sized businesses in the bakery trade that work with traditional manufacturing processes, natural raw materials and without finished products. The magazine appears four times a year. It was founded in 2004. The target group are craft bakers in Germany , Austria and Switzerland . The magazine is published by Convention Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, based in Osnabrück . The publisher and manager is Trond Patzphal. Artisan magazine is a member of the IVW . The print run is around 2,000 copies per issue.

Artisan magazine goes back to the Slow baking association founded in 2003. The following year, the first edition of the slow baking magazine was published by Convention Verlag as an accompanying information medium. After the overall concept of the club and the publishing house had been changed in 2007, the two separated. Since 2009 the magazine was known under the title Artisan - The fine art of baking . In 2011 BackMedia Verlagsgesellschaft mbH took over the title of Convention; In 2014 BackMedia Verlagsgesellschaft mbH was merged with Inger Verlagsgesellschaft; Today the magazine appears again at Convention under the title Artisan - The magazine for craftsmanship and slow baking.

The Convention Verlagsgesellschaft mbH regularly organizes Artisan seminars .

Erfa circle

Since the beginning of 2017, the service company of the Rheinischen Bäckerhandwerk mbH has been carrying out the Erfa-Kreis for the Artisan magazine . The Erfa-Kreis is supervised by Markus Theißen and meets three times a year.
