Artyom Wrowjri Simonjan [ aɹtjom sɪmonjan ] ( Armenian Արտյոմ Վրույրի Սիմոնյան ; FIFA spelling after English transcription Artyom Simonyan ; born February 20, 1995 in Saint Petersburg , Russia ) is an Armenian football player and is under contract with FC Pyunik Yerevan .

Club career

Simonjan began his career in his hometown at Zenit Saint Petersburg and was there for the first time in the professional squad in May 2014. In February 2015 Simonjan was signed by the Swiss super league club FC Zurich . Artur Petrosjan , who is both youth coach in Zurich and assistant coach for the U-21 national team of Armenia , was involved in the realization of this transfer . He spent the 2016/17 season on loan with FC Le Mont-sur-Lausanne . Then he was permanently signed by FC Alaschkert Martuni and after a year and a half he moved on to FC Ararat Yerevan . He has been under contract with FC Pyunik Yerevan since summer 2019 .

National team

Simonyan made his debut for the Armenian national team on October 14, 2014 and was replaced after 69 minutes in the 3-0 defeat against France .
