The Artschar Peninsula ( Bulgarian полуостров Арчар poluostrow Artschar ) is a 3 km long peninsula on the northwestern extension of Greenwich Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It lies between Razlog Cove in the north and McFarlane Strait in the south. The north-western half of the headland is not covered in snow in the Antarctic summer months.
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2005 after the village of Artschar in northwestern Bulgaria , which is internationally known for the ruins of the Roman city of Ratiaria .
