Arturo Cancela

Arturo Cancela (born February 25, 1892 in Buenos Aires , † April 26, 1957 ibid) was an Argentine editor and writer.

Life

Cancela studied at the Universidad de Buenos Aires . After graduating, he became an editor for the daily newspaper " La Nación ", which he held until 1945. During the presidency of Marcelo Torcuato de Alvear called to Cancela 1927 inspector of secondary schools of Buenos Aires .

From 1950 Cancela gradually resigned all offices and retired into private life. He died eight weeks after his 65th birthday in Buenos Aires and found his final resting place there.

The focus of Cansela's literary work was humorous and satirical prose. His most successful publication was a collection of short stories (“Tre relatos porteños”), in which he addresses the weaknesses of the inhabitants of Buenos Aires. Some publications were also made in collaboration with his colleague Pilar de Lusarreta .
