Arven was a German metal band from Frankfurt am Main . The group called their style Melodic Metal .

history

Arven was founded in 2006 by guitarist and songwriter Anastasia Schmidt. While looking for female musicians for the band, she found guitarist Ines Thomé and pianist Lena Yatsula. Classically trained Carina Hanselmann was added as a singer. In May 2009 the bassist Lisa Marie Geiß replaced the former member Eve Kreuzer. As the only man of the sextet belongs drummer Till Felden in the band.

In 2011 Arven signed a record deal with Massacre Records . After the release of the debut album Music of Light was postponed by a week, it was finally released on September 30, 2011. The album was mastered by Sascha Paeth and Michael Rodenberg. The album cover was designed by Jan Yrlund. The second album Black Is the Color , on which Van Canto's Stefan Schmidt can be heard as a guest singer, was released on August 23, 2013 and landed at number 65 in the German album charts.

In July 2014, longtime guitarist Ines Thomé quit to write her doctoral thesis in the USA . A permanent replacement could not be found. The band worked on a tribute album for the band Sonata Arctica , which was released in 2015. On September 8, 2015, Arven announced their breakup due to casting problems and differences within the band.
