Asakazu Nakai
Asakazu Nakai ( Japanese 中 井 朝 一 , Nakai Asakazu ; born August 29, 1901 in Kobe , † February 28, 1988 ) was a Japanese cameraman.
Life
Asakazu Nakai began his career as a cameraman in 1933 and worked on 91 productions up to and including 1986.
He has worked with director Akira Kurosawa for decades.
In 1951 he was awarded the Japanese Blue Ribbon Award.
For Kurosawa's late work Ran he was together with Masaharu Ueda and Takao Saitō 1986 for the Oscar in the category Best Cinematography nomination.
